Perhaps this comes down to whether the aim of the dance is to portray yourself as a strong sexy confident women or if the aim is to titillate those watching? I dont think i have a point to these thoughts but wandered if others think along the same lines? :) As a person learning pole for the fitness, i would like some day to be able to be the confident sexy but have no desire to try to dance to turn others on!Caroline Snoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8380215136543211908.post-39739445467659131732012-07-15T09:15:13.284-07:002012-07-15T09:15:13.284-07:00Sam,
I agree with you entirely. There are so many...Sam,

I agree with you entirely. There are so many closed, judgmental "stuck" people in our world and it's unfortunate that they can never appreciate the work and effort people like you put into making pole fitness truly fitness. All we can do is continue to promote and do what we do best!

Also, I am a fan of 'Dirdy Birdy' on Facebook as she posts really good tutorials of various moves and it's funny that this popped up only a few stories away on my news feed this morning. I watched it and honestly sort of squirmed in my seat as I felt pretty uncomfortable with the moves she was doing. Sometimes it was hard to watch!

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=492755164074069

Not sure if you can see the link.

I am a bit saddened to see the US so stuck in the "stripper" way, especially with competitions often including lingerie and high heels. In Canada, from experience only in the last couple weeks, I can see a very strong mix between the pure fitness side of pole and the strong graceful sexy but appropriate pole routines.

In any case, I'm excited to see the future of pole and hope it can evolve in a more positive and sport-like way! Let's continue to show this side of pole!Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09076418123717071009noreply@blogger.com
